September 2022

I hope everyone at the Sheepfold is doing well. Our family is doing great, and we are looking forward to a calm and restful summer. I have some good news that I wanted to share with you all. Perhaps you can also share it with the moms who are currently with you who may fear that their children will never get back on track after the turmoil, upheaval and self-doubt that domestic violence has caused in their lives. I pray that my family's story will be an encouragement to them, and an example of what God can do when you are open to His direction. I also share this with you all, to share how thankful I am for the seeds that were planted while we were with the Sheepfold. I know that what is now being reaped is a part of what you all helped plant into our lives.

When my family came to the Sheepfold, my daughter was a quiet little girl with blonde hair and big, beautiful eyes with dark circles underneath them. She used books as an escape from all that we had been through. In our prior life, she was not allowed to dream big, and did not have big plans for her life.

Things are so different for my daughter now. She is about to graduate as Valedictorian of her Senior class, she received the Outstanding Student of the Year award, and was awarded several scholarships for college. She is no longer the fragile little girl, but a young woman full of confidence and excited about the future.

We know that all this is because of the Lord. It is my prayer that she knows this on a deeper, truer level as she serves the Lord in whatever He may have for her. May it reflect the service that you all at the Sheepfold showed us as you opened your arms and hearts to us in our time of need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Homemade Soaps...

We are always so thankful for the kind, thoughtful ways our donors care for our families. Look at these wonderful handmade soaps. Sometimes it's the most simple gestures that make the mothers of the Sheepfold feel the most loved.

Thank you @soulbalancesoapandcandles for the lovely soaps, we know that our moms are going to love them.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Family Time...

Domestic Violence creates chaos and disorder within families. It strains family ties that need to be mended. When families arrive at the Sheepfold one thing we like to focus on is having our mothers and children spend quality time together to reconnect.

The Sheepfold provides an environment of peace where our families can rest and reestablish those healthy relationships. Healthy families produce healthier futures.

Summer Plants...

We are so grateful for the space to be able grow some fruits and veggies at our shelters. Our residents love learning how to tend and care for a garden. The steps toward healing from domestic violence are often hard for our residents, so having this simple opportunity to relax and do some gardening can be a wonderful break from the heavy moments. The genuine accomplishment our residents feel when they see the literal fruit of their labor is tremendous. Sometimes the simple things in life can bring the greatest enjoyment.

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
- Matthew 25:40 NIV
Holiday Party Boxes

We would like to send a huge thank you to “Kelsey's Corner for Christ”.

Kelsey's Corner for Christ was formed in memory of Kelsey Potts, who unexpectedly went to be with the Lord at the age of 13 years old. Kelsey had a passion to serve Christ and her community. So, to honor her memory of service, Kelsey's Corner for Christ has donated these beautiful Holiday Party Boxes for the Sheepfold families. Our families will be able to celebrate in style and make wonderful memories together for the holidays!

Thank you again Kelsey's Corner for Christ! It is an honor to partner with you in serving the families of the Sheepfold.

Blessings to Share...

Today it was the joy in the children's simple “Thank Yous” and their giggles as they showed off their new footwear given to them from donors like you.

What an honor it is to be able to bless the families with these gifts so thoughtfully purchased! So—thank you on behalf of the Sheepfold families and children who wear and enjoy new slippers and shoes!
