I Have Grown So Much... |
|
When I first arrived at the Sheepfold, I felt a peace that surely did go beyond my understanding. The home felt very welcoming and I received a warm greeting (and hug) from the House Manager and the residents.
After only being here a short while I felt the call to be re-baptized. This would be a new season of my life that would require a deeper commitment to God. This time I would do things differently. I would let God lead me all the way. My baptism was made even more special because the same House Manager who gave me my first hug here at the Sheepfold, was the one to baptize me.
My son has grown so much here. He loves going to church each week and he wants to learn more about God. He has even told me he sees and knows I love Jesus. As a mother, that is huge because my hope is that I would set a good example, to leave a legacy of God’s love. I don’t want him to be in the condition I was for so many years—fearful and anxious. I want him to have a life free of all worries because he is secure in his faith in God.
There are so many good memories will always have from my time at the Sheepfold 1st Step—tears, laughter, and pure joy.
I have been well cared for in my Father’s house. He provides, He guides, He teaches, and He restores if we allow him. My experience here has taught me that God is not done with me yet, but He has laid down a marvelous foundation for my son and to continue to build on. I am truly grateful for everything. All is well.

Note: This Resident has graduated to our 2nd Step Program. She is on track to graduate with her Bachelors Degree in 2020. We are so excited for her as she continues to accomplish her goal of providing a loving and safe home for her and son.
...and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Saturday Nights
Destiny and her son, Daniel, are Sheepfold alumni and have a huge heart for the ministry. She and her son, along with the financial support of a long time donor, have hosted dinner for the families at the Sheepfold on several occasions.
At a recent Sheepfold Saturday Night she provided all the material for the moms to make inspirational yarn art and we all enjoyed tacos for dinner.
Such a nice treat for the moms & kids! Destiny and Daniel, THANK YOU for giving back to the Sheepfold and your willingness to serve.
