Cheryl's Story...
My stay at the Sheepfold has been a gift from the Lord. I asked him for a mentor to teach me all that I needed to learn, and a few weeks later I was living in the Sheepfold with four Godly women to mentor me.
I have learned not to avoid the quiet since being here. I know that He is there. I know that I can hear Him better here. I can say, “speak Lord, your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10)
As I was searching for work, I was encouraged to ask the Lord for everything that I wanted. So I did. When I was discouraged in my job search over and over again, He would give me hope. One day, He gave me the job that I prayed for! He is such an awesome Lord. He has taught me that He loves me, and that He takes care of me.
He has given me laughter and fun. I can smile again. He is my strength, my comforter, and my provider. He gives such good gifts to His children, and I have witnessed and experienced it so many times here at the Sheepfold. I have been able to see His amazing ways over and over again. I feel so safe, so blessed, so strong and so loved. I am thankful I am in His arms.

Give Thanks
One of our House Managers created a thankful highway poster for the residents to place thankful cars on. They represent how much there is to be thankful for. It is a reminder to take the time to slow down instead of speeding through life to get things done. We encourage you to slow down and take time to find your next thankful moment.

Would You Like to Adopt a Family for Christmas?
At Christmas we provide a joyous and Christ-filled holiday for the women and children staying at the Sheepfold. We are able to do this with the help of individuals and companies who generously donate gifts or participate in our Adopt-A-Family (AAF) program.
Adopting a family means providing a portion of the gifts a family receives Christmas morning. When you call or email, you will be provided with information which includes an AAF number (to protect the family's identity), ages, sizes and gift suggestions from a family's Wish List.
The deadline to drop off the unwrapped gifts for the AAF program is Thursday, December 8th. This allows us enough time to organize, wrap and transport the gifts to the homes for Christmas morning.

Give a Christmas Gift
We greatly appreciate all of your expressions of love by donating Christmas gifts for our moms and kids.
Here are a few Gift Suggestions for our moms and children (Ages: infant, toddler, school age 5-12, and teen girls)
- Clothing and accessories for women (all sizes including plus sizes)
- Beauty and hairstyling products and accessories
- Shoes for women (all sizes)
- Clothing for girls and boys (all sizes)
- Clothing and accessories for infants and toddlers
- Shoes for children (all sizes)
- Clothing for teen girls (all sizes)
- Popular children's toys (all ages)
- Outdoor toys: Bikes, Scooters, Skateboards (and protective gear)
- Electronics: Educational toys, gaming consoles for the shelters, Nintendo Switch Console and Games rated E
- Gift Cards: Target, Kohl's, Walmart, Grocery Store, Costco, Gas, or Amazon
- Tickets/Activities: Amusement Parks, Sports Events, Movie Tickets
- Shelter Specific Gifts: DVDs (G or PG), Children's Books, Bibles, Devotional Books
- Household Items: Linens, Bedding (twin size), Home Décor, Kitchen Essentials, Highchairs, Umbrella Strollers

Please note:
- We request NEW items because these are gifts.
- Please bring gifts UNWRAPPED. Gift bags OK. We need to see each gift, therefore, we will need to unwrap any wrapped gifts.
- We will receive gifts starting Wednesday, November 30th, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Gifts are also welcome earlier.)
- All gifts will be received at The Sheepfold office. Call (714) 237-1444 or email: mail@thesheepfold.org for directions.
- Gift Drop-off DEADLINE: Thursday, December 8th (So we have time to sort, wrap and distribute before Christmas.)
- Wrapping supplies, boxes and ribbon are appreciated.
As part of our stewardship accounting we are required to record every new item donated to the Sheepfold. It would be a great help if those who bring gifts would kindly include a list of the items' cost, or a copy of your register receipt.

The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability
|
|
|
The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability is the respected organization that audits non-profit corporations on a yearly basis to verify that all donations were recorded properly and were used for the purpose for which they were given, and requires a full financial statement for supervision by The Sheepfold Board of Directors monthly.
Membership in the ECFA is only granted to non-profit corporations who meet their rigid standards. We are proud of our long-standing membership in this organization.
