Monique’s Story...

I came to the Sheepfold on August 17, 2015, feeling broken and unloved. I had 3 children and was pregnant with my fourth. When I found out I was pregnant, I felt like I didn’t want to keep my son, but staying in the Sheepfold gave me hope that I could do it on my own. The House Managers showed me so much love, and in the beginning I didn’t understand why. Then I realized this is the way it’s supposed to be, we are supposed to love one another as Christ loves us.

My faith in the Lord has grown so much here. My relationship with my Father God is so strong now. I will continue to read the Word every day and be involved at church. I also was taught how to be a good mother. I really didn’t know how before. I get to teach my kids about Jesus now and they love it. They love when I read the Bible to them. I enjoy every second I get to share the Word with them and can’t wait to see what God has in store for me and my children’s future.

I have grown to be more independent during my stay. Before I came to the Sheepfold I was scared to go anywhere with my kids alone. I thought I would never get my drivers’ license but God had other plans. One of my favorite memories was having Ms. Casey (one of the House Managers) be in the delivery room with me when my baby boy was born. It was the best delivery experience I’ve ever had and I am very grateful for her. It was a blessing to have her there with me to share that experience.

My kids and I appreciate all the time Sheepfold has put in to us. We love you all and will be keeping in touch. Thank you for our stay here. It is has been an amazing journey of ups and downs. I am a completely different person spiritually than I was before. I’ve made close friends that are my family now. It’s amazing how much God can change us and give us second chances. I’m thankful the Lord guided me here, where I was finally able to leave my toxic marriage. It was the best move I could ever have made for myself and my children. We just received the keys to our affordable housing home and my next steps are to finish my GED (one test left) and then begin college. I am going to finish what I have started.

Thank you Sheepfold for not giving up on me and believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I love you all so much. You are my family. The Sheepfold will forever play a big part in my family’s life. God bless you all.

Happy Mother's Day!

Helpers in the Garden

Here are some pictures of one of our regular volunteers, Gwen, and her friends. They recently installed a new garden bed at two of our homes, and taught our kids some gardening tips.

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

- Isaiah 58:11

Thank You for Your Prayers

May God continue His mighty blessings and provision upon the Sheepfold as you are faithful to bring the Word to the precious women and their lambs.

It is our prayer that the comfort and peace of the Holy Spirit will be evident to all who are lead to the door of the Sheepfold.

With grateful hearts,
