It is a pleasure to introduce myself, Isela Hernandez, to the Sheepfold community as the new Volunteer Coordinator. I am a wife, mother, daughter, older sibling, aunt and granddaughter. I have two wonderful children ages 17 and 8. I've been blessed with a wonderful boy and a girl, and they have completed my life in ways I didn't know needed to be filled.

I am also a pet parent to our one-of-a-kind cat named Mylo. Prior to my position at the Sheepfold, I was a legal assistant for 10 years, until the Lord called me to this new vocation. I truly believe that all of life's circumstances prepare us for our God given purposes. In a season of transition and new beginnings I was led in the direction of the Sheepfold.

I am very blessed to be on board this ministry. I very much look forward to executing my role and wish to be a vessel of connection. I am thrilled to pour my love and talents into the mission and vision we hold here at The Sheepfold.

In my free time, I am devoted to my family, church, volunteerism and helping women find their voice and personal spiritual growth. I look onward to many years here at the Sheepfold. I pray for God's blessings in all my endeavors with this Family and Team.

We were so blessed with these wonderful volunteers today and they said they had a wonderful time serving at one of our homes and learning about the Sheepfold Ministry. We enjoyed sharing a meal with them after all their hard work.

Here at the Sheepfold, we love our volunteers. We are so grateful for their care and support of the families that we serve. We also love to hear how their experiences are going while serving with us. So when we received this note from one of our child care volunteers, we had to share it with you all.

“Those kids are such a blessing! I can't put into words but I'll try: they are so loving and encouraging to each other, so full of God's love, so thoughtful of each other's feelings as they play, and they make up the best games ever to play with such joy and laughter, always making sure everyone is included.

They are amazing soccer players, yet such good sports to include the younger kids, they make the best Play-dough desserts, and are so smart at strategy games. And when one of them takes your hand and asks you to play with them, it's the biggest honor ever!”
