Moving Forward...

After rebuilding her life in Christ through our First Step, she and her son were able to move into their own apartment at Sheepfold Second Step! These are her thoughts on move in day:

“I'm super grateful to have a way to provide a roof over my head for myself and my son. It's taken a lot of commitment and obedience to Christ to move forward to Second Step. It still seems unreal that I'm blessed with moving into my own place. I faced so many adversities at a young age and part of my adult life—even as a single mom.”

“Moving into Second Step has given me hope. Sheepfold has been ministering the love of God to us over the last 6 months. Having these people who believe in me, helped me choose to take authority over my life again through Christ. They have helped me realize my thinking and make changes in it. I don't have to live staying financially dependent on a man and be abused by him. I can't believe those words are coming out of me, because it was so hard to break that cycle!”

“I am thankful for the investment of the Christian community and how they have lifted me up through this difficult time.”

Kayla's Grandma...

Note: Kayla's Grandma recently wrote these words and I hope they will bring you the same encouragement that they brought me. Praise God for praying Grannies!

“Before you went to the Sheepfold this time, you know I pulled away from you. It was very hard for me to not be in your and Tobias' lives, but I came to the realization that I was always trying to save you from yourself and your situations. I prayed to God to step-in and do what I could not do.”

“I told Jesus, 'I leave them to you.' I had to let go. But I prayed for you everyday and it was hard to be patient and let God do the work and make a way. I prayed that you would be surrounded by godly people—and you are. I prayed that you would believe that God has a plan for you and Tobias. I love what you said about being the first to raise up your family as a Christian, in the ways of the Lord.”

“I was thinking about that the other day, and how I was a single parent, Casey was a single parent and you are a single parent. Raising Tobias in the Word will break the cycle and bring forth a new generation of Christians who love, follow and are obedient to the Lord.”

“We are so blessed by what we see happening in your life. I know sometimes the path isn't always easy, but it is the only way to have an everlasting life. Next to Jesus, we love you more than you know.”

Child Protective Services

Sometimes offering hope and refuge to families looks like working alongside Child Protective Services. We have recently had several mothers come to us with open legal cases due to the abuse that children experienced from their mother's abuser.

The Sheepfold has provided a safe home, which means the children are either permitted to stay with their mother or return to her from their foster home.

It is an honor to provide a healing environment to support family preservation. Our House Managers work hard to offer ongoing feedback to court appointed Social Workers and Legal Advocates in terms of the family's unique case plan.

Baptisms...

During Church Service, two of our Sheepfold Children were moved by the Holy Spirit and they were baptized.

What an amazing God we serve and oh how much He loves us!
