Cherished Time

Serving at the Sheepfold as a House Manager is a once in a lifetime experience for those who desire to minister to mothers and children seeking shelter from homelessness and/or abusive relationships.
I am one of those people. I have worked in this field for over ten years and I can say from my heart, I have never experienced a shelter program that puts (and keeps) Jesus Christ as the center of all they do. From the moment a family enters our program until they leave, they experience people who love what they do and that love is given to the families the Sheepfold serves. This is a ministry of excellence, structure, peace and loving guidance. Peaceful home environments, spiritual growth and building strong families is fostered daily—in the name of Jesus.
As a previous House Manager, I saw all that the Sheepfold does first hand, with a bonus. During my season there, God did His work on me as well. I grew in God’s grace! There is a saying that Executive Director, John Wildman has which is infamous among the House Managers, and is often quoted. “Err on the side of grace.” We are taught when making difficult decisions, make them on the side of grace above all else.
I loved and will always cherish my time as a House Manager at the Sheepfold. Had it not been for moving to be closer to family, I would still be part of the ministry, being blessed by all it does for the families that come through their doors. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity, the privilege and honor of working for this ministry and watching families experience the love of God every day.
- Lillian, Retired House Manager
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.
- Ephesians 2:8
Fun Blessing...
The Lifesong Church Volunteers were such a blessing tonight. They provided a delicious meal, dessert and drinks for the residents. The residents really enjoyed the company and the crafts the volunteers brought to make with the children. It was fun for the Mom’s to be able to visit with each other, while the kids were busy crafting! It was such a blessing for the moms.
The volunteers made the residents feel very special. The strawberries cut into hearts on the cake were such a sweet touch. So much love flowed tonight and hugs were given as the volunteers headed out.
