Zahava’s Story...

Being at the Sheepfold has been amazing. I am so thankful for a safe place to stay and to have loving kind people around me and supporting each other. God’s peace is flowing through the house daily and makes me feel happy. My daughter also has been much calmer being here.

Doing our daily Bible study brings me a lot of peace. God has been working on me in many ways, teaching me to trust Him and that He loves me. Also teaching me patience, forgiveness and not to lose hope.

God is showing me that I am not the only one going through hard times. Reading through Psalms and Proverbs has shown me how much He loves me and that He will heal my broken heart.

Thank you and God bless you for your prayers and support!

Zhava,

Sheepfold Mom

Family Meals

Family style meals in our houses makes for great conversations. One day during lunch I asked our brand new 8-year-old to tell me about the very best day he could remember. He thought for a long time, then started by saying: “This one time my Dad was not drunk ...”, and then went on to describe going to the carnival with him.

My heart broke in half. Although I daily witness the impact of the brokenness caused by domestic abuse, I was reminded in a fresh way the importance of healthy, sober, non-violent family.

What we do at Sheepfold is important. Every day this little boy spends in our house will be free from the fear of a drunk adult dominating the home. What a gift it is to offer a safe haven for hurting families!

Thank You Riverside Women’s Club

We were so thankful for the opportunity to share about the Sheepfold at the Riverside Women’s club in February 2020. As a group they made a generous donation of household supplies!

Volunteering at our Re-Sale Boutique

Do you believe you have the gift of helps? You just like to come alongside others that are serving the Lord and help them, with whatever they may need? Volunteering at the Sheepfold Boutique would be just the ministry for you!

Many years ago, I wanted to use my time to serve the Lord and I heard an advertisement on Christian radio for the Sheepfold. They were looking for volunteers. At that time, one of my very best friends had been helped by a shelter in her city, so this spurred me on to go to the meeting and I’m so thankful that I did! That was over 25 years ago. I’m still there sorting, pricing, hanging, cleaning, and whatever is needed. I’m being blessed working with a team that cares for others and know that we are serving the families as well as the Lord.

Linda,

Boutique Volunteer

It’s very fulfilling to serve at the Sheepfold Boutique. It's an honor to support the amazing, appreciative staff that supports the moms and little lambs of the Sheepfold shelters. Helping to keep the store running smoothly is a powerful way to provide resources for those families.

There are many memorable moments that make serving there so special: a House Manager coming in for a bundle of beautiful bedding and bedroom decor to welcome a new family, a fisherman with a great big grin that just found a tackle box treasure and reels, a proud dad that picked up a cool, colorful helmet for his son that just learned to ride a bike. It's truly a rewarding place to serve.

Laura,

Boutique Volunteer

I personally enjoy helping with sorting and organizing things at the Sheepfold Boutique. Volunteering is a rewarding opportunity to join the fight against domestic violence. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9. Knowing that this organization provides hope and refuge for women and their children is a blessing from the Lord.
