Destiny’s Story |
|
My journey here at Sheepfold has definitely been a blessing. When my daughters and I first arrived here it was difficult to adjust to the routine and the rules. We were able to adjust and now I can say I am truly grateful for being able to be here.
Being at Sheepfold has strengthened my relationship with my two girls. The four months before I came here were the worst because I didn’t have them with me. I kept thinking I may never get on my feet again, but by the grace of God my youngest daughter found a flyer about the Sheepfold. I knew the moment she sent me the flyer that it was the way I needed to go. I thank God every day for letting my daughter find that flyer, because if she hadn’t I don’t know where we would be right now.
Not only has my relationship with my daughters grown stronger while I’ve been at the Sheepfold, but also with God. My relationship with God was strained for so long before I came here, but after being here I know that He will always be there for me and will never leave or forsake me. No matter what I go through He is always there. I thought God wouldn’t forgive me for all of my sins, but now I know He will. He wants me to be His daughter and I want to be His daughter. I never considered becoming a Christian, but after being here and getting to know God I want to be a daughter of Christ. I want my girls to be daughters of Christ and to know God sent His one and only Son to save us from our sins.
The Sheepfold has been a true blessing to me and my daughters. I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done and provided for us.
- Destiny, Sheepfold Resident
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.
- Hebrews 12:28 (NIV)

Well Done!
We would like to recognize a few of our moms for a JOB WELL DONE!
Jessica has been with us for a month and was already enrolled in school when she moved in. It’s taken her a little over a month to finish her high school diploma, and she did so while she was working on getting her medical billing certificate. She has been very determined and focused, and has even finished all her Mark 4 activities while in full time school. She will graduate the medical billing program in December, and should be able to get a sustainable job with her education. She has chosen humility and hard work in her short time at Sheepfold!
Alisha participated in CDL training and now has her class A driver’s license. It took her two months to complete the program. She decided to get her class A license so she can provide for her family, and she has also graduated to our 2nd Step program.
Janet received her high school diploma from NOCE (North Orange County Continuing Education). It took her six months to earn her diploma. She is very excited to walk the stage and participate in her graduation ceremony. She has also graduated to 2nd Step.
Marina and her son have been with us for about a year. During this time she has worked very diligently and recently received her High School diploma, graduating with honors. She also recently received an Administrative Assistant certificate and graduated to our 2nd Step program.

Also, we would like to celebrate, Bob Brumleu as he continues to serve on our Board of Directors. Thank you for 25 years of service! You have always been and will continue to be a source of Godly wisdom and steadiness as we move forward with the work of the Sheepfold ministry.

Volunteering at Sheepfold...
We had eight high school young men and their dads, who were searching for a service project that would benefit the community, allow us to serve others, and preferably minister to a Christ centered organization. These boys are Gold Medal of Achievement candidates from Royal Ranger Outpost 248, a Christian mentoring program for young men.
We contacted the Sheepfold and discovered they could use some help. We learned that one of their transitional housing facilities was in need of a custom built storage shed, tree and shrub trimming and removal, playground rehabilitation, security and exterior lighting repair and upgrade, planter box refinishing, and some other miscellaneous tasks.
What began as an opportunity for service quickly developed into an amazing blessing for the Royal Ranger young men and their dads. We could clearly see God’s hand of provision, protection and blessing on this ministry, and how caring and loving the staff members are.
We felt a sense of honor, joy, and true purpose coming alongside Sheepfold and working at their property over several months to complete much-needed tasks. In God’s special way, He made the hours of service a joy rather than a chore.
We set out with the desire to bless Sheepfold and their residents by offering our services, and in turn the sense of accomplishment and fulfillment we received made us feel like the recipients of the blessing!
Thank you to the Sheepfold staff for making our service project such a delight, and for your amazing love, hospitality, and assistance. We look forward to partnering with you in the future, and may God continue to richly bless your ministry.
Don Tebbe
Royal Ranger Commander, Outpost 248

Pool Party
Our annual pool party was a great success, enjoyed by moms, kids, alumni, and staff! Tom and Mike of Holy Smokers provided an awesome BBQ lunch for all.
One of the highlights of the day was the Baptism of three Sheepfold residents.
