Before Coming to the Sheepfold...

I was battling addiction and lost my kids during the battle. I got pregnant and entered a sober living program, because I knew if I had another baby while on drugs, the baby would be taken away. I got sober, I found a sponsor, I completed the program and started visitation with my other children.

I was doing great, and my social worker wanted me to start overnight visits with my children but I couldn't do that and be in the sober living. I started looking for a shelter that would take me and my baby and allow my children to visit as well. I called place after place and finally called the Sheepfold, the one place on the list I kept avoiding.

The Sheepfold has changed my life! It helped me become a better mother, I have a place for me and my children to call home while I continue to get my life in order. I go to school full time and am saving money. I have gotten closer to God and have been baptized. The Sheepfold is what I was praying for—without knowing it.

Kid's Bible Study

At the Sheepfold the daily teaching of the Bible and practical application of the love and mercies of God are the primary focus of this ministry. We want all our residents to know God as their personal Lord and Savior. We believe that you are never too young to start building your relationship with the Lord.

These little lambs brought their Bibles to the table to read the Word of God on their own. Planting seeds of faith in the lives of all our residents is the heart of what we do. Our prayer is that the seeds planted will continue to grow in the years to come. Praise be to God!

Thank You Sheepfold Volunteers!

We are extremely grateful for all the men, women and teens that give of their time and energy throughout the year to helping us serve the Sheepfold families. Our volunteers go above and beyond lending helping hands to meet the needs of this ministry.

You will find them helping us garden, cleaning around our shelters, organizing our Thrift Store, and helping us with childcare during our Bible studies. Often, they donate a meal to a to help with dinner or mentor our little lambs. The list goes on and on.

There are a variety of opportunities for groups or individuals to get involved volunteering with us. If you are interested, we would love to hear from you. For more information about volunteering, email our Volunteer Coordinator at christinacruz@thesheepfold.org today.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Heard's Garden Tour

Mary Lou Heard was a friend of the Sheepfold and for years the garden tour that takes place in her honor has continued that friendship. Each year the Heard's Garden Tour showcases beautiful home gardens throughout Orange County and each year we are blessed by the proceeds of the donations from those who visit the gardens.

If you find yourself with some free time on May 4th or May 5th, 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, we hope you will visit the beautiful gardens on the tour.

A list of gardens, along with all necessary information (including maps) may be found at Heard's Garden Tour website: www.heardsgardentour.com
