Amy’s Story... |
|
July 2015 changed our lives forever! A few days before being accepted into the Sheepfold, I had pleaded with God to open a new door and to close the one I knew I would go back through if something didn’t change. God opened the door and at the age of 36 my 5 month-old son and I moved into the Sheepfold. I was completely broken, hopeless and full of shame. Little did I know what God had in store for me.
The House Managers, staff and volunteers provided stability, security, love and hope in the name of Jesus, which brought me out of the hole that I had dug for myself. Through this relationship I am continuing to build with God Almighty our Lord Jesus Christ, I am learning to find my identity in Him and to love myself the same way He loves me.
Throughout the last year and a half I have completed the First Step program, obtained a phenomenal job, was blessed with a donated car, and built great relationships in my church family. I have now completed the Second Step program and found an affordable apartment where I can maintain a safe, loving and Godly home to raise my son. I could write a small chapter book about all that God has done in the last year and a half and none of it would be possible if He did not open the door to the Sheepfold.
I have so much love and respect for every person that God has brought into my life throughout this time. I am moved beyond belief and thankful beyond words for what He has done.
Thank you God for rescuing us from certain destruction — in Jesus’ name, all glory — Amen.
- Amy, Sheepfold Graduate
We love because he first loved us.

Gardens Help Support Sheepfold: Heard’s Garden Tour 2017

If you find yourself with some free time on the weekend of May 6th-7th, we hope you will visit one or two of the beautiful gardens on the tour. A list of gardens along with all necessary information (including maps) may be found at the Heard’s Garden Tour website: www.heardsgardentour.com.

It's National Volunteer Month!
Thank you to ALL of our amazing volunteers who diligently give of their time and many talents to serve the families at The Sheepfold!
We are truly blessed to have a great group of people who faithfully help watch The Sheepfold kids on a regular basis while our moms spend time studying the Bible. Thank you also to our professional volunteers who teach art classes, cut hair, do handyman work and tutor our kids.
We also want to thank those individuals who participate in Serve Days, volunteer at our Resale Boutique, mentor our kids, help in many ways at Christmastime and those who put together the newsletter every month. The list goes on of the many contributions our volunteers make.
It is such a blessing to have faithful volunteers who have a heart for our ministry. We truly could not do what we do without YOU!
If you are interested in volunteering at The Sheepfold please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at sarah@thesheepfold.org or visit our website at http://thesheepfold.org/volunteer-opportunities.php
