Brittany's Story...

When I first came to the Sheepfold I was lost, scared, confused, hurt, and didn't know what was going to happen next for my children and myself. I had just recently lost my baby brother to his battle with depression, while trying to heal from my own trauma.

When we first arrived, we had no idea what to expect. I was still new to my faith in Jesus Christ and newly baptized. At the shelter, we did Bible studies every night, this helped me and my children become closer to God and more into His Word. I had always been too nervous to pray out loud and when I was finally able to, I remember crying in joy and happiness.

At the Sheepfold I learned so much about domestic abuse that I never knew before. The reading material and videos I was given truly helped me process through my trauma and my grief. I was able to forgive my abuser. Now, I can share my story, my experience, and my knowledge. I use these tools now to look for those signs and to help other women.

After being at the Sheepfold seven months I was able to move to another state with my two children, obtain a job and have a fresh start in life. My children and I are happy in our new life and I want to thank God and everyone at the Sheepfold for everything you have done and will continue to do in my life!

Heavenly Father, thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. I pray for all the women and children who have had to endure abuse and ask that you keep them safe. I thank you Lord for all that you have done and will continue to do. In Jesus's name. Amen!

House Manager's Story

Sometimes a past resident, for various reasons, returns to the Sheepfold. It is always so overwhelming and heartwarming to give them a hug and welcome them back into the fold.

Recently, one of our past residents returned to our program. When we met, her little girl hugged me and said, “I'm home,” her mother and I looked at each other and began to cry. Without a word spoken about what had transpired over the past year since she had exited our program, I knew this family had had a difficult and exhausting year. As they settled into the house it was clear they were experiencing peace, love and support that only God can provide through the hands and feet of His people.

Experiences like these remind me that my role as a House Manager is an honor and privilege, as what we do for others, we are doing for Christ Himself.

Blessings,

Chrissy, House Manager

Baptism is Such a Joy!!

We believe baptism is a beautiful thing in the life of the believer. Baptism is a way to share with others your commitment to follow Jesus. We would to love to encourage all of you that have not yet partaken in the act of Baptism to take that next step in your relationship with Jesus. You will not regret it! This mom surely has no regrets!
